I am going to the VB Desktop for a few reasons:
- VB is increasing in popularity
- it is the Microsoft language of choice
- it will keep my options open for the future
- the IDE isn't a _huge_ leap
I think that Visual Interdev is a close second. Why these two? I would like to do more web development and that most like will entail Active Server Pages. Also I would like to get into hand-held devices, which requires VB (or VC). With either exam I will get exposure to VB syntax.
Not sure if there is an easiest to learn. When I find something easy, it is usually because I have had previous exposure to it.
Overlap? Looking at the Micrsoft outlines, the Distributed exams (VB, VC and VFP) have the most overlap.
Strong technologies now and for the future, my guesses are:
- web applications and web databases
- n-tier development
- hand-held devices
