.NTX is a Clipper index file. Normally, its data tables are .DBFs, just like Fox. You could try USE MyTable.DAT to see if it will open as a .DBF.
I think Clipper used to support some table structures that VFP won't. We'll need someone with real Clipper experience to weigh in here.
