Hi,

I did the first demo using an old pentium 100 win95, pws and the demo version of wwc. I have a cable connection to my home office. I bought a hub to connect two machines to the cable modem so that I could run my regular workstation and my web server at the same time.

I got the demo wwc working and tested it with my reqular workstation. I then phoned the client and gave him the url of the win95 web server. Over the phone I walked him a couple of searches. The nag screen came up a few times, but I was able to click OK and continue. My client was very happy, since he was under the gun to get some data published on the web.

My client paid for my copy wwc. We ran the web site at my home office using the win95 machine for about a month. My client gave the url to a number of his clients who were requesting data. During that time I didn't have a permanent IP address for the win95 web server, although the address didn't change. Nor did the cable company know I was running a server at my home office.

I have since upgraded my cable connection to a permanent ip address and with the rights to run a web server. I bought Visual Studio which comes with NT and IIS. I bought another computer and installed nt, iis and wwc. I'm hosting my client's application while we are developing it. Eventually we'll move the application and wwc to my client's web server.

I can now demo this app to my other clients who want to publish to the web.

Hope this helps.

Paul

>Under those circumstances, what do you use for a web server? Did you use the demo version of WWWC? Did you log onto that web server from the interview site, start your WWWC-based main program, and demonstrate it in the half-hour before the Demo WWWC pops up its nag screen and stops responding to requests? I might like to do something like this myself sometime, and I wonder how you actually go about it.
