Actually, a well-tuned NT setup is probably as reliable as any other piece of hardware. The "well-tuned" part is a full-time job for a trained & diligent administrator. From what (little) i know, the companies who experience problems with NT are not willing to pay a trained & diligent administrator what they're worth.

Unless you really need it, go into your machine's BIOS and turn off all the power management fluff. You don't really need your hard-drive going to sleep, or your CPU putting the monitor to sleep in a corporate setting. (how much $$ worth of electricity is saved compared with the cost of rebooting's downtime) Most corporate enviroments that concerned about 'wasted electricity' have the users turn the machine off overnight anyway. During the day (especially for MIS) the machine shouldn't be 'napping' any more than the employees.
