WHen I first saw this message, I marked it for monitoring purposes hoping for some responses and for possible testing myself. While this is on my list of stuff to try to confirm which is faster, it is a somewhat honerous proposition. My backend is Oracle, and I do have access to some quite large tables [1 million+ records each]. I have queried them using the old syntax, and the speed is impressive. However, I do limit the amount of data I retrieve.

When I get the chance, I will try out the new JOIN syntax which I just noticed the new ODBC [MDAC] drivers support on Oracle remote views.
