>>>>>>I often receive this message from compiled applications. If a CD is put into the CD ROM then the error goes away. It does not matter what CD is put into the drive as long as it is readable. The error will occur twice if there is a CD ROM without a disk in it and a DVD without a disk in it. The compile app may work fine on one machine but give these errors on another. I am using FoxPro 2.6a for Windows. Has anyone run into this? If so have you found a remedy?

>>Darn, I had such high hopes. This may fix some of the problems but I also have people who are receiving this error when their CD ROM is mapped as the Q:\ drive (this is a network mapping to a driver tower). When a CD was placed in the tower the error went away. Grrr.... :-)

I will give this a try. And no, I restarted after changing the config. But why in the world do you think it would be trying to access a Q: drive? It seems like if there is an empty CD ROM or DVD drive on *some* machines, that it will give this error...I know my temp and work files have never been pointed to a Q: :-)
