I agree using COM objects is a lot easier to use and maintain than trudging around using Foxpro functions and windows API, but what I require is not that sophisticated and a once-offer. It's also not practical to install something like winscript on all the users' machines if I can just place all the code on one form, etc and send that out.

I'm not using defprint anymore as I think I've found something which will do the trick for me on one of the Microsoft KB articles and will post it as soon as I test it out.

The second dimension of APRINTERS() does not return the portname, rather it returns the port which does not set the default printer properly using defprint.
