Question for you, since you have the highest level of VB knowledge around these parts.
I went to a MS Web developement dog and pony last year. It was the latest demo of the FM Stocks example now on MSDN of doing 3-tiered development. When the topic of what part VB actually plays in their demo came up, it was emphasized that VB was used only to move the data from the browser to SQL Server. That the more VB did to the data, the slower the app would become.
Isn't this an important consideration? For example, I'm working on a Web app now. Data for the list boxes is maintained in DBFs and the Page is generated thru Web Connection. So I can offload some of the traffic from SQL Server and have the middle tier validate the data.
