>>>I've never had good luck using large arrays, why not use a table?

>>Problem is, I did not develop the application. I am testing its effectiveness. I really would not know how to go through all his code and change the array to a table. What I am trying to do is tune it so it will run with a larger number of variables. Thanks for the advice, though. I am sure it would be helpful if I had more expertise.

>Someone else may be able to propose a solution, but I imagine you'll end up with an app that's a real resource hog (FoxPro is a hog anyway). I had an app recently where I used an array with nine columns. I found that I could only have somewhere between 3000 and 4000 rows before I got an overflow error. It was on a 486_100 with 42 MB RAM. Not a kick butt machine, but I think the scenario demonstrates one of Fox's limitations. I wish I could be of more help.
