yeah, i was lurking, and was very suprised by the results when i tried it.

Set Alternate to c:\ROres.txt
Set Alternate on
Select...
Set alternate off
set alternate to

creates the text file, even though the output is spewed all over the form. (it looks ugly, but this is a debugging mode anyway, right?)

I didn't know that creating indexes on tablename.fieldname defeated optimization. As a guess, i reindexed without the tablename. The optimization level went from None to Full. (another example of learning as you go)
