Title:
Private Data Session overides SET DATE
Hi All,
I've recently come across a problem with Private Data Sessions in Forms. I created an APP where I issue SET DATE BRITISH in the main program. If I set the DataSession to 1 in a Form everything is okay, but if I change the DataSession to 2 the SET DATE format reverts to AMERICAN ( As Australia uses a date format of DD/MM/YYYY and not MM/DD/YYYY this is a real bummer ). I can get around the problem by issuing SET DATE BRITISH in the INIT of the Form but I'd have thought that specifiying this in the main program would have negated the need for this.
Then I read in the online help the following about Private Data Sessions:
Because data sessions control the scope of certain SET commands, you can use private data sessions to establish custom SET command settings within a single session of Visual FoxPro.
It would be nice if there was a 3rd DataSession type which would allow the DATA to be private but not override the SET commands. Am I just being picky?
I've worked with FoxPro for a long time and can't believe that I've never come across this before.
Thanks,
Gavin...
