I only / spent a few minutes investigating the problem, but after saving the file as / a specific Excel 95 format, everything worked A-OK. The Office 97 has finally went Unicode, and all the internal formats have changed. Of course, the VFP team didn't get the news on time (and vice versa - no Office app is capable of exporting into VFP tables, only FP, and there's no codepage mark in them, either). This practically means that any tdata transfer between a VFP app and any Office app must go in some one-age-earlier format.
