I plan to use SCATTER MEMVAR MEMO and later GATHER.

But what if I have 2 tables that I am editing at the same time and they have some common fields names?

Can I still use SCATTER MEMVAR MEMO or do I have to use
SCATTER NAME (tablename1) and SCATTER NAME (tablename2) instead, to keep the common field names unique between the 2 tables?

Thanks in advance. The book is not clear on this and I have never used SCATTER/GATHER. I have only used data buffering for tables.
