I don't think there is a 5.0b yet, just 5.0a.

The README in 5.0a has exactly that in its title (when viewed). That is the simplest way I know of to check.

The dates on the CD are August 21, 1996. Is this the original or is this the update. There is no indication on the CD as to the version other than 5.0 whic helps little.
