>Steve, I realize that you are dealing with outside forces here, but you should be battling this one to the death. Those that hold that internal VFP buffering affects any other network application are completely in the wrong. There is a lot of expertise here on the UT, and many people who develop a wide range of apps on NT and other networks, and there is (from what I can tell) complete concensus that the notion that Buffering vs. SCATTER GATHER will absolutely, under no circumstances have any affect on the network, or any other applications running on the network.

>I know that sometimes, ultimately the choice is not left to the developer, but this is akin to management telling you to save diskspace by reducing the font sizes in your application, or telling you to use green forms because green forms are less harmful to the environment. Make sure you give this issue the fight it deserves.

Not that I disagree with anything Erik has said but, Is this billable time? Have you already stated your postion and given your reason for opposing this? If so, do the work send the invoice, cash the check! :)
