Erik,
>Steve, I realize that you are dealing with outside forces here, but you should be battling this one to the death. Those that hold that internal VFP buffering affects any other network application are completely in the wrong. There is a lot of expertise here on the UT, and many people who develop a wide range of apps on NT and other networks, and there is (from what I can tell) complete concensus that the notion that Buffering vs. SCATTER GATHER will absolutely, under no circumstances have any affect on the network, or any other applications running on the network.
Not disagreeing, but just curious about something. If the *other* applications are old FP2 apps using explicit RLOCK() or FLOCK()'s does your assertion still hold true?
IOW, has anyone ever had a conflict between implicit locking and explicit locking?
