OK. Try URL http://www.microsoft.com/data/mdac21info/mdacinstq.htm
and see if you can determine what version you're really using of MDAC.
It has so many minor revisions that your machines could in fact be
running different versions, while they appear to be the same.

Maybe there's a clue to be found there.
