When I saw your last post on this thread I thought 'aha - manna from heaven!'

I have HUNDREDS of reports I need to convert from FPDOS 2.6 to vfp and so far the only way I've found to do them is to 'open' the report from the development environment 'file' menu. I desperately need a way to do this from within an application.

Tried your code but it doesn't work. Looked at the resulting file and the first thing that was obvious is that the 'PLATFORM' field remains as 'DOS' rather than 'WINDOWS'.

Added a line to 'replace all platform with "WINDOWS"' and tried again. This was a bit more successful in that the resulting report could be opened within the vfp app but it was effectively useless as the whole report was 'greyed' out and you couldn't see or manipulate any objects in the report. Running the report just produced a blank.

Then I converted an identical report using the only 'official' method and compared the resulting file with the result of your function (as modified by me). The differences are numerous and significant. The 'official' conversion assigns at least a dozen parameters (eg height, width, fontsize, redfill, greenfill etc etc) which - of course - your function can't and doesn't. And without knowing the conversion algorithm, I doubt if we'll be able to duplicate the result programmaticly.

So - anyone else got any possible solutions?

Hopefully

Harry
