>At Las Vegas Double Impact, Randy and Calvin were showing some of the user interface improvements (intellisense, etc) and while talking were doing cool things like grabbing the command window and moving it outside the VFP screen, etc. That's of course just UI stuff, but your DE speculation is intriguing. I think it makes a *great* rumor.

Thanks, I just hope that it becomes fact. I've always thought (and have stated this here before) that the current way of doing things is "bass-ackwards". The way I see it, it makes the data a function of the form, rather than the other way around (which is the way it should be). It also "marries" the data very closely to the form. Doing n-tier design certainly would be easier, from my POV, if the DE was a separate entity. You also end up with multiple copies of the same thing (the DE that is) if you use essentially the same one for your reports and utilities.

Hmm, the old "hippie" in me is chanting, "Free DE, Free DE...":-)

>>I think you might see some information come out from the NO conference. Since "Gonzo" John Koziol is going to be a presenter there, and I sure that some other UTers will be in attendance, I think some more information will surface then.

Well, he'll at least be able to report on what's presented. Knowing Gonz, won't talk much provocation < gd&rfg >

>>Certainly! No matter what's included it isn't gonna please everyone.< bg >

LOL! Hadn't thought of that.
