Right, Either will give you that.

I don't have any performance data on the two methods. My suggestion is try them, and see which one is faster.

(Honestly, I just thought of the two-step version first, and I in general avoid using DISTINCT unless using GROUP BY makes things too unclear, or difficult, performance per se was not why I suggested the two-step first)

Just giving credit where credit is due. I looked at the Hacker's Guide to VFP 6.0 to refresh my memory on the DISTINCT clause within fields, and so the example was theirs. AFAIK its fully supported VFP SQL Syntax.
