I would suggest using RecNo(). Are you positive you are doing Recno() on the cursor? Maybe try a NoFilter on the end of the SQL SELECT? If you need to, do this, but you sohuldn't have to:

private pnRec
pnRec = 0

select NextRec() as rec, * .....

function nextrec
return pnRec + 1
