Thanks again for the help. I am assuming this would also hold true if instead of setting filters I open the table and did a seek for a particular record. The situation is that I have search screen which is populated from a read only view. The user can search the view for a particular record and once he locates the record he presses a command button which will take him to the data entry screen. The data entry screen will be based on an updateable view based on the record he located in the search screen. I am assuming this would be much better than opening the table and doing a seek on the entire table for the record he located on the search screen.
