There is a fix for this on the Microsoft site.

Fix is called Slow Start I think. The problem
shows itself as a divide by zero error on Intel
processors of CPOU speed 350Mhz or greater. Speed
has nothing to do with it. The chip architecture
is what causes the problem. The fix was written
by a third party (cannot remember his name), not
by Microsoft.

Even with this, you will still have problems with
drop downs & lists if they contain a large number of
records (600 or more).
