John,

>I keep reading Microsoft propaganda about how easy it is to get your FoxPro program to run on the web. What is really involved? What would I really have to do to get a large system written in VFP 6.0 to run on the web?
> Is there a way or a program that will simply allow over 125 VFP forms to run on a web server? (Ok, I’m probably dreaming but I can ask can’t I?)

Running your forms as-is on the web is not possible. You can use Web Connection to turn VFP forms into DHTML web pages, but the code underneath the form has to be restructured.

>Do I have to go back and rewrite the entire system again? (Please say no.)

Yes. At least parts of it. How much depends on how the system is architected. Today's emphasis on n-tier design, COM components for business logic and data access, etc., help make apps more easily convertable to the web.

>What is really available and does anything really work?

I say it here several times a week: Run immediately to www.west-wind.com, read the white papers, buy Rick Strahl's book there, visit the message board, and download the completely working demo of Web Connection.

Also keep your eye on F1 Technologies' framework for new developments that are supposed to be coming soon (probably not announced officially yet) to make apps built with the framework easier to get to the web. That solution they are working on is using Web Connection, from what I've heard.
