I am trying to convince my bosses to stick with visual foxpro, but lately the bosses have start to lean towards other database product. Two in particular are Advantage Database and Borland Interbase. I know that these products are going to lead our organization back to dark ages. I guess their primary concern is database security. They think that an individual can snag (copy) a dbf table from explorer and view its contents. I don't know how I can convince them to stay with foxpro. I don't want to start integrating other database tables into foxpro. Also my bosses think that someone will be able to access my tables via internet, or intranet and therefore they need some kind of encryption. I think straying away from foxpro tables or incorperating other databases products (especially when they are not popular) into foxpro would be bad idea. Does anyone have any idea how I can pusuade my superiors not to switch databases and how I can easy their mind on dbf security issues?
