Got a good one...

Sent the latest code to the customer for review, right? They called & said it was choking when loading a form -- was working great for me (of course). Problem reported was object not found. Traced that to a table (Cursor4) was not opened so the object was not created. Everyhting looked fine (sound familiar?). Then the customer finally says they had a problem with Validate Database command so they removed a table from the DBC & put it back in & it was ok (I freaked). Turns out the table was Cursor3 -- loads before cursor4, right? I looked at the structure & all looked fine -- 4 indexes showing. Went to the Project & happen to glance at the bottom of the Table fields where Indexes are listed -- only 1 showing!

I then removed the indexes from the structure, saved it, put the indexes back & all was fine. The question is how can the DBC & table structure differ & not bomb on my side? Most likely just to frustrate me.

Lesson learned: Validate your DBC before shipping to anyone.

Obviously this is the only way to check for inconsistencies. I did not think I had to since I was not moving my copy -- only they were. This is this first time I ever had this problem in the year I have been using VFP. Gee, learn something new everyday! Lucky me! (yeah, right...)
