You can set relationships in a dataenviroment between two tables. So in your DE, you have the main table, and the table wihch looks like

1 Text Description 1
2 Text Description 2

or whatever. Then drag the numeric field from table 1 to the numeric index (you have to put on an index on it) at table 2.

Now, wheneveer you change records in table1, table 2 should be displaying the correct text description for table 1's numeric field. Does this make any sense?
