>The app I was referring to was oringinaly writen in VFP, when the boss told us to do it in Oracle. Tools, wizards, upsizing, oracle, do a bit of field defs (char to varchar2), OK, rewrite stroed procs, create remote views, change VFP forms dataenvironments to the new remotes, up and running, two days:-). Performance, however sucked. Recreate forms in Oracle developer, five months :-(. Project still ongoing, in fact I may have a carrer just on this project.
Must be something else going on. I connect to an Oracle DB in North Carolina over our WAN from Dallas. The tables range from a few thousand records to over a million records. Performance is more that satisfactory. Of course I only retrieve what I need at the time and use the MS ODBC for Oracle and not Oracle's drivers.
