I think you missed the big <HUMOR> </HUMOR> tags Evan figuratively put around this post. It wasn't meant as a real deal, he was stating satirically that Notepad could be marketed as a big cross-product development tool by pointing out that all of these things are just plain-old text.
Point is, he was playing on the joke that people have on their websites where they put "Developed using Notepad" as a slam against the sites that put "Developed using FrontPage."
IMO you should cut Evan some slack--its Friday. This thread was never meant to be taken literally, you missed the joke I think :)
