>>Well the whole ad looks somewhat 'trumped-up' to me. . . in the Conference Schedule for Wed. May 24 at 8 a.m. he is listed as "Visual Studio Product Manager" and not a "a Visual Studio Product Manager". And yes, the words are capitalized in the ad to suggest more strongly that it is a real title and not some generic thing (I might have expected a title of "Product Manager. Visual Studio" as a more probable title).
>>Later he is identified as "a product manager for Visual Basic and Visual FoxPro..." and again I have capitalized as it is in the article.
>>
>>We have always 'known' him as "Product Manager, Visual FoxPro" as far as I recollect. So is he 'Product Manager At Large'??? Your 'technically' is a new thing maybe? Maybe just for purposes of this conference???
>>
>>The cynic in me says (allowing that it *is* a typo, as Mr. Green has said to you) that:
>>1) That is one load of "typo";
>>2) The conference presenter, Fawcett Technical Publications, also the publisher of VBPJ, can't very well have a keynote speaker who is not CLOSELY associated with VB at MS. So they have made him look like one.

>His job title says nothing about VFP. I was just looking for his business card, but seem to have misplaced it. As I recall, it says either "Visual Studio" or "Developer Tools".
Well it seems a lot to me like the Secretary of Defense being sent as a keynote speaker to a conference for the Department of Education.
Too bad Mr. Green told you it was a typo (his being Product Manager, Visual Basic) because I felt that it should have a positive impact for VFP if it was true.
And if all of the VS 'product managers' do NOT have an actual product name in their titles then I can only see trouble ahead. When MS is allegedly trying to get closer to the people, this would be another step (like dumping VFPs) in the opposite direction.
In my original argument above I blamed Fawcett, but it looks like it is really a problem at MS.
