You're right, thanks...I had a filter on an index, DIVES.SUB...
>Try to remove first the dives.dbf then validate again. If the error doesn't occur, their must an expression - maybe filtered index - that has
dives.field = something
or something related.

>>I have a database that includes a table, DIVES.DBF. The data base has 17 other tables and 9 views. The DIVES.DBF table is included in two of the views (I can open all the views successfully, w/no errors.)

>>When I open the data base exclusively and do a VALIDATE DATABASE, I receive the following error (twice):

>>Alias 'DIVES' is not found

>>Yet VFP reports:
>>DATABASE CONTAINTER IS VALID

>>I opened the database as a table and only found "DIVES" referred to by the 2 views and the DIVES table itself.

>>This does not seem to be causing any problems in my application (!) but I am getting an occasional 0C00....error.

>>Any idea why I am getting the "Alias 'DIVES' is not found" error?
