the cause, in my case was laziness on my part. Instead of launching the project manager by typing MODI PROJ BUS or whatever, I wrote a little prog with that line in it called 'b' so that, instead, I could just type DO B. It seems that if you do that then the 'find and replace' function goes out of scope or something boringly similar.

If that is what you're doing too, the solution is simple. Stop!

If you're not guilty of that behaviour then my experience is of no help to you. Hopefully someone else might have a clue.
