The _DBLCLICK system variable can be set from .5 to 5.5 seconds, this determines the incremental search interval. In the when WHEN method of your combo box, set the _DBLCLICK value to however slow you want it to be. In the LOST FOCUS method of the combo box, reset it back to the original value.
