Been there, done that. I have proven that FoxPro will do the job as I had the a live search system in place for months. Worked well, infact the manager chose to use this system when looking for documents instead of the 'official' system.

Unfortunately this decision is out of my hands. There is a strong belief over here that FoxPro is dieing, which I don't believe, but Access and SQL Server are the only two options that are proposed by hosting companies. In some ways it does make sense as it makes a clear distinction between low volume - low cost and high volume - high cost sites. It seems that FoxPro would muddy the waters.

But still, let them go on thier merry way. All I can do is find some real life stories and pass them on - horror or otherwise.
