My Seiko is smartly made. Every month has 31 days, and it requires manually setting the days ahead. Can't go wrong that way :)

Not sure it was Australia, actually, I was just giving a rough paraphrase from the national news here. It was ATMs down somewhere, transit cards somewhere else, telephones another place...thought I heard Australia for one of the problems, but not sure which one...
