1) How do you know that the data is not there? Are you looking in the tables with a browse to see what it there? Try this to look at the last physical entries in the table without using an index, in case the index is corrupted:

USE tablename
GO BOTTOM
BROWSE

2) This kind of thing can happen when someone shuts off the computer, or crashes or kills your Fox program in an unfriendly way.
