I'm doing that but, the fields may have 1 or 100 lines of detail
if I put the data I need to print on the left inside the detail band then
my data on the right will be line spaced 7 inches.

imagine a packing list with the details on the right half and a peel off label on the left. the data on the label must remain fixed in position but every list will vary in number of lines of detail
