>Also, does anyone know if it makes a difference to the client if the host is NT or UNIX? If I want to do something with vfp for example, should I choose an NT site?

Definitely choose NT if you want to do anything with M$ technologies. For awhile my roxworld.com site sat on an NSI server even though I signed up for an NT server. I had soooooo many problems do anything other than simple ftp uploads it was ridiculous. In fact I even had problems getting the domain name moved to my ISP's NT server based space.

Another thing you want to look for in web hosting is a service that has an Admin page where you can administer your own stuff yourself instead of having to talk to some idiot on the phone when you need simple things like email accounts and ODBC drivers loaded. And if you want to play with your own VFP DLL's, some of the cheaper ISP NT hosting plans have a flat out policy against any custom DLL's.

FWIW, the Admin page & custom DLL's considerations is what gets me most of my web hosting reseller clients for Interland.net Interland has been getting all kinds of positive reviews & awards lately but their not cheap as far as service providers go. But it is premium services (outside of the screwy online reseller form). For their basic Feature Plan for a year I can beat the other price posted a little (approx. $20 a month with a $45 setup fee).
