Here is the print screen from DOS right now while I'm on line. The second address (1 Ethernet adapter) is the one the function is returning. Looks like the problem is the two NICs. I didn't know about the IPCONFIG command. I'll take a look at removing that second card id. There is only one card. Maybe this is also why my net connection seems so slow?
