Some of you may remember that I interviewed a potential VFP programmer for for company today. For those who care to know, a fun thing happened.
I'll call him "Joe". Joe came in at about 8:30 AM today. Looked sharp and smart. After few probing questions, it seemed like he knew foxpro well enough. Then came the acid test, building a simple form using VFP 6.0. As he sat he asked me if I had foxpro 2.6 load on the machine; I said yes and asked why. He said he has actually never created a form using VFP, but instead called the fox2.x *.SPR using VFP. So after I blinked a few times, I asked him some basic VFP questions including the difference between Private and Default datasessions and the difference between a method and an event. Well, he didn't know.
Moral of the story, you can't always just a book by its cover, cover letter that is.
