>Thanks Roxanne - I guess part of the trouble was that I wasn't completely in the NSI DB until today, I could change some things but others did not work, like the WHOIS. I'm all set up today, but now I can't get in because it's too busy. I'll try again later, you're quite right about the site being overloaded - haven't been able to get in the past hour or two.
Actually WHOIS is a separate mirror of the real domain reg database. I threw a fit once over faulty WHOIS info on a client of mine, only to be humbled when NSI told me everything was registered as prescribed. They explained that when they update their online reg processes, they leave WHOIS fall out of sync with real database until new stuff is up and running.
The reason you probably couldnt change stuff was most likely because your payment wasnt processed yet. The freeze the domain name reg until payment clears. This is yet another PITA because I've done online credit card payments that don't "clear" for a week. And if you happen to make payment during a week with a holiday... make it two weeks.
One more tip, dont make changes to your domain reg record any later than 1st thing Friday morning. Anytime after like Friday at lunch time gets queued and held onto until close of day Monday (yet another fit I threw with NSI somewhere along the line). So your actually better off waiting until Monday to change you domain record then falling in the queue over a weekend.
