>>If you use the rule, "someone might be offended or insulted", then I can bring to the table the notion that I am offended by people who do NOT bring God into their discussions. I could find it offensive that someone speaks and writes English rather than French, Spanish or German. I can say I'm offended that someone here might use VB rather than VFP (*gr&rvvf* from JVP!) ad nauseum.
John,

Well, I hope you got my point that the "rules" for one group of people
cannot help but offend some other group. To use
"being offended" or
potentially offended by something someone posts is, well, stupid, ridiculous, irrational and illogical. In my opinon.... *g* Where do you stop is what I see the problem that this creates.
Whatever the standard is determined to be, then publish it and be consistent. Using the notion that someone will be offended is just a cover for today's politically correct posture and who even knows what it will be tomorrow....
You may be uncomfortable with issues like this. I am not. Who's right? *shrug* Seems to me that in this case it's really not about right & wrong but about the presumed standard that you know and adhere to. Is this published or do we just need to send you tribute to keep you happy and bribe you to get our way? *bg*
