I think its more involved than that. There used to be a chain called Computer City that Radio Shack owned. These guys were even worse than CompUSA. It was not surprising when they closed. If these places even practiced basic customer service skills they would do much better.
I agree that people buying based on price will lead to problems, but these places are really, really bad.
