>Hi,
>I have a new MS PS/2 Intellimouse plugged into a 9-pin serial port, using a PS/2 to serial adapter, and Windows will not detect it. I tried doing as a KB article suggested, and removed the registry settings of previous mice. I've tried installing virtually every MS and/or PS/2 driver I can find. Nothing works. The mouse works fine on a Win98 machine.

Not all the PS/2 IntelliRats work on a 9 pin serial adapter. If the Win98 box that it worked on used it as a PS/2 port device, I'd go out and check to make sure that the rodent supports both port types; I know a lot of the ones that were sold OEM would not operate with a serial port.

The ones that do work will say clearly on the tag on the bottom of the rodent IntelliMouse™ Serial or PS/2 Compatible. If the word "Serial" does not appear, she's not going to work.
