I got whacked last week by a fellow doing that. Fortunately we were at a stoplight. He was looking lto his left talking and I guess he presumed I wasn't in front of him. He accelerated into my rear bumper. Now, I drive a 1995 Volvo 960 and he was driving a Toyota small model of some sort.
Guess who won? *g*
Not hardly a mark at all on my rear bumpre - just the smallest of scratches. His front bumper moved back at least 2 inches, a broken parking light cover, etc. In today's narket probably about $1,000.00 to fix.
