I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you who continually offer top-notch advice. In this forum, the questions range from the novice to the expert level and in almost all cases, questions are answered, and advice is given in a very professional manner. I've rarely seen an instance where posts are responded to with an "what are they asking THAT for . . ." kind of attitude. That type of professionalism is very much appreciated.

Thanks to the help of many of you here, I have been able to convince the powers that be in my place of employment that there is a place for VFP. I created a prototype of a 'current account reconciliation' application that does a VERY FAST reconciliation of our client's very lenghty Current Account statement (about 6000 records a month) to an extract of their General Ledger records. It went so well that I have been given the go ahead to develop the full-blown product with VFP.

It was especially rewarding to demo this app to the (cough, cough) Access guys. After they picked their lower jaws off the floor, they made me prove that it was actually as fast as it appeared to be. Now they know what I've been trying to to tell them for so long. It feels quite good I must say!
