Dirk,
FoxPro... Ok, now I've satisfied the new rules. *g*
I've heard both good and bad stories about the autobahn. Typically it goes like this: "Those drivers are REALLY good but when they do crash it's quite spectacular." *g*
Here in the States we used to have Drivers Education which I presume is the equivalent of youe "L" (learning?) plates.
We also used to show some pretty gruesome moves of failed driving experiences to provide some shock therepy.
Best,
DD

>You're lucky. I can't understand the Brits! (I shouldn't say that too loudly being German and married to a Brit). Some drivers here in England are too nice to be on the road. They nearly stop on the Motorway to let cars join the traffic.
>On the other hand it's frightening in Germany (no speedlimit on Motorways) when people zoom up your backside doing anything up to 140+ mph expecting you to just get out of the way having only two lanes available.

>One thing I always wanted to know, do you have a thing in the States (or any where else for that matter) that 17 year olds can stick a couple of 'L' plates on the car and can then drive along without taking a driving test?? THAT is scary!

A man is no fool who gives up that which he cannot keep for that which he cannot lose.
Everything I don't understand must be easy!
The difficulty of any task is measured by the capacity of the agent performing the work.
