Erik, how does the COM object having knowledge of the VFP C API break COM standards? I am not trying to start an argumentative thread, its just that if you take MS DirectX as an example, it implements IUnknown, IClassFactory etc. It also has special knowledge of processors (quirks, tricks), video architecture etc. The point is this, is it not the mechanism that defines the VPTR's that is the standard and not the details of the implementation or special internal knowledge of an API?

Once again I am not saying your wrong and I am right, Im just a little confused <g>
