Well, Texas has an open-container law now so you can't legally drive around with a can of beer in your hand. You can still carry a shotgun or rifle but carrying handguns is (and has been for years) illegal without a Concealed Handgun License.

The cellular phone has replaced the beer can and some of the more violent types are using their cars as weapons so I guess it all evens out < bg >.
