Hi Erik,

I would have to disagree here. ActiveX Designers are COM, and they definitely rely on certain aspects of the host environment. The fact is, VFPCOM is only relevant in VFP. Try instancing it in something else. Good luck... So, if it is only relevant in VFP, it makes sense to stack the deck.

COM is a binary standard. To be COM, the IUnkown Interface needs to be implemented. That's it. That is all that is required to be COM Compliant.

I am not sure what Normal COM is..... Something is either COM or it is not. VFPCOM is COM in every sense.

I'm not construing this as a bad thing here at all (after all, what other environment would need to turn a cursor into a RS?)- I just wanted to clarify that this is not normal COM.
